GPI 400
GPI corking systems has been developped and produced under the following conditions :
- Corking glass flasks with a standard screw ring, type GCMI 400/33 (for GPI 400/33 stoppers) and GCMI 400/28 (for GPI 400/28 stoppers)
Corking used only for spirits having the following characteristics:
- Alcohol level between 15 and 50% vol.
- not sparkling
- free of milk additives
- sugar level less than 10g/L - T° of the liquid between 15 and 25°C
- Filling the flasks by preserving an expansion chamber (or head space) of 3,5 % minimum
- Screwing onto flasks with a glass ring (threading + contact zone between the join and the glass) which is perfectly dry
- Screwing with a calibrated material adapted to this type of corking
- Screwing with a screw torque of 2,10 to 2,5 N.m
- Temperature of the room used for bottling : 15 to 30°C
- Our GPI stoppers are sold with a Saranex join (density 0,25.)
The inviolability is achieved by applying a PVC cap or a sleeve

Recommendations
BASIC RULES TO FOLLOW
Storage area for the corks:
- A clean, well-aired area, no contact with bad smells, dust or external contamination.
Storage conditions of the corks :
- T° from 15°C to 30°C, RH between 40% and 65%.
Duration of storage for optimal use :
- 6 months after the date of despatch, subject to respecting the storage conditions mentioned above.
Expansion chamber:
- Choose the glass carefully and make sure you have an expansion chamber of 3,5% after corking in order to limit the risk of leaks, or deterioration in the corks…
Conditions of use :
- Screwing onto flasks with a glass ring (threading + contact area of the join onto the glass) which is perfectly dry
- Screwing with a calibrated material adapted to this type of corking
- Screwing with a screw torque between 2,10 and 2,5 N.m
- In the case of mechanised corking, the rotating speed of the screwing head must not exceed 200 rpm and the flask, which should be perfectly placed in the screwing axis, must be held still during rotation.
- Bottling in premises where the temperature is between 15 and 30°C
Storing and transporting the bottles :
- Always store and transport your bottles in an upright position (including when they are with your traders or distributors) and always prefer storage areas with the least exposure to heat.
WARNING:
- Excessive tightening ( in excess of what we recommend) may lead to some deterioration in the cork and/or make corking impossible.
- Insufficient tightening may result in leaks or the product not being preserved correctly.
- Screwing on a damp ring (threading + contact area between the join and the glass) may, among other things, cause problems with leaks and in opening.
We advise you to check, before screwing, that your bottles have all the necessary characteristics for quality corking
In particular : The whole of the glass ring should be free of any rough or uneven edges - the thread has a depression (indentation) where the join is - the upper surface of the glass ring on which the join rests is smooth and free of dust.
